So, Netflix has added "The Order" to their repertoire. I've always been a fan of supernatural TV series. I'm not going to spoil much of the plot aside from what's in the trailers.
It has an interesting plot but it's similar to the popular magic/supernatural western TV shows like Teen Wolf, The Originals, Charmed and more. Though, I think they have a fresh cast that's going to click with a lot of teenagers and young adults.
However, I do believe script-wise I'm seeing the main protagonist to be a male Mary Sue. I know it's going to be an unpopular description but the first few episodes gave me that impression. It seems like Jack Morton, the lead of the series, came off as already intelligent, already highly charismatic and seems like already has a lot of people defending him. A lot of plot armors or I guess in another term, deux ex machina or acts of god to save Jack.
But by episode 4, Jack does start to get flaws. Still, it seems as if he's getting a lot of help from people he barely knows.
I think it's watchable though.
One of the best things about the show is one of the actresses. Louriza Tronco is the daughter of Filipino immigrants in Canada.
Nearing the end of Episode 4 now and some... Awkward dialogues. Still, I will persevere in watching this.
