Natural Underarm Whiteners

Dark underarms can happen to anyone. It’s not because you are unhygienic, there are various factors that come into play such as genetics, activity, deodorant use and even disorders such as Diabetes Mellitus which causes Acanthosis Nigricans.

Many advertisements and companies have cropped up and several products are on the market to help reduce darkening in the underarms. Unfortunately, some people are reluctant to try these products. Some are afraid of the chemical content of the products while others can’t afford to use them regularly.

Fortunately enough, there are natural whitening agents that can be found in your own kitchen. These are all natural, organic and affordable.

Natural Underarm Whiteners

Raid your kitchen and find the following items for a whiter underarm.

Lemon

One of the best natural whiteners. Lemon contains a mild acid that can gently exfoliate dead skin and whiten it. How to use lemon to whiten your underarms.

• Rub a slice on the affected area with a gentle rubbing motion. Once done, wash with cool water and apply moisturizer. The moisturizer is necessary especially if you use lemon on your axilla (underarm) every day.
• Another way to use lemon is to mix it into a paste with several other items such as turmeric, honey, milk or yoghurt. You only need small amounts such as a teaspoon of one or two of the ingredients to make your own 100% natural underarm whitener.

Potato

This potassium rich tuber is not only good with steak but it’s also good for your underarms.

• Use a thin slice (that’s all you need!) of potato and rub on dark areas. Wash off with cold water.
• If you’ve got a food processor, pulse a small piece with a small amount of water into a thick paste. Apply on dark areas of your underarm and allow to dry for approximately 10 minutes as tolerated. Wash off and apply moisturizer.

Egg oil

Egg oil is another kitchen product you can use for your underarms. It whitens the skin by promoting new skin growth. Don’t buy from the store; you can make egg oil at the comfort of your own home!

• Just apply the oil in your underarms overnight and wash with your preferred soap.

Cucumber

This vegetable is popular for reducing eye bags and on burgers.

• Use small thin slices of cucumber and apply on affected skin.
• You can also mix cucumber juice with turmeric, honey, lime or lemon for a natural DIY underarm whitener.

Coconut Oil

This oil contains Vitamin E which can help renew skin.

• Just apply onto skin and leave on for up to 15 minutes. Wash with warm water and soap.

Milk

Use whole milk, not the powdered ones! Full fat milk cream works better.

• Make the paste with curd, flour and milk. Apply to skin for 10 to 15 minutes and wash off with cold water.
• Milk also goes well with Turmeric and other natural whiteners like potatoes, cucumber, and lemon.

Vinegar

This sour smelling kitchen staple contains acetic acid which is a mild exfoliant and antiseptic. This will leave your skin germ-free and odorless.

• Apply vinegar onto your skin as tolerated. Leave on for 15 minutes and wash off with warm water.
• If you prefer a paste, use rice flour or ordinary flour. Apply on underarms for 15 minutes and wash off with warm water.

You can use one of the items above or you can mix them all into your own personal underarm whitener. You will need small amounts of each and a small glass jar and store it in your ref. That will be good for a week. Just a final reminder after whitening your underarms, always moisturize!
