I promised myself not to blog about Globe anymore cause it just riles me up. But I tend to be very passionate about things that I rarely stop haha. Anyway, I’ve seen a lot of people send me PMs on FB, emails and even text messages about Globe’s prepaid home wifi (PHW). I thought about making a guide according to what I’ve learned so far. After this, I promise I’ll stop and focus more on other important things such as why Juuni Taisen irritates me but I can’t stop watching! Ahem.

What is the Globe at Home Prepaid Wifi
So let’s start with a little bit of intro. The Globe at Home Prepaid Wifi or as I’d like to call it prepaid home wifi shortened to PHW (for brevity) is a wireless modem and wifi router. This means it functions as a modem so you can surf the web but at the same time it’s a wifi router so you don’t need to buy another device.
The PHW modem does have a LAN port at the back so you can connect it to your laptop with a LAN cable. Globe boasts of a max 50mbps speed (averaging 20mbps for most people) but it comes with a hefty price tag. You have to buy the modem for Php 1,999. It comes with the PHW sim card which is a special sim card for reasons I will state later.
Setting up Your Globe Prepaid Home Wifi (PHW)
You need the following in order to set up your PHW modem properly.
- The PHW modem
- A smartphone (postpaid or prepaid)
- Load credits for prepaid
- (optional) A laptop
- (optional) The LAN cable
There’s no switch for the PHW modem. Once you connect the power adaptor, the device will immediately light up. The back of the device will show you number of the PHW simcard. Phonebook this immediately to your smartphone. You can connect the LAN cable to the modem and to your laptop to make things easier. If you prefer to connect the first time via wifi, you can do so.
Locating the Wifi Router SSID, Password and Other Information
Underneath the modem is your WIFI SSID, password and also the dashboard address (it’s usually 192.168.1.1), username and password.
Once you’ve connected via wifi/LAN cable, access the modem dashboard by opening a browser and opening HTTP://192.168.1.1
You will be taken to the modem dashboard log in page. The default username is admin and password is admin also. I highly suggest that you change the dashboard login password later.
Changing the SSID of the Globe At Home Prepaid Wifi Modem
The Dashboard is a page that shows a lot of information at once. To customize the SSID and password, go to WIRELESS and you will see the settings for you to customize your modem. Once you click save, you loose connection with the modem (if you connected via wifi) as it reboots.
So now you’re done with the basic set up of the modem.
Linking your Prepaid Home Wifi To your Smartphone
I highly suggest you download the app Globe at Home from the Playstore on to your smartphone. Once you’ve installed the app, just key in the number found at the back of your PHW modem. It is only 10 digits so add a ZERO/0 before the number to make it into an 11 digit number. Once you’ve registered, it will ask you if you want the free10gb. Just follow the set up to get that free 10gb from your Globe at Home Prepaid Wifi. You may need to access the dashboard again and click SMS.
The Globe at Home App
This app is very useful in managing your PHW modem. You can also register other globe broadband products here if you have others and you don’t need to be connected to any of them if you want check the data allocation.
What’s important with this app is the “GET MORE DATA”. This is how you’re going to register to the cheap promos called HOMESURF. But you can also register to other promos by using the DASHBOARD via Http://192.168.1.1 and clicking SMS.
Time based Connection with Globe at Home Prepaid Wifi
You can immediately connect to the internet at a time based consumption of 5 pesos every 15 minutes at a max speed of 50 mbps. You might need to turn off SURFALERT (by texting SURFALERT OFF to 8080 via the DASHBOARD>SMS) for you to be able to do this. For a 24 connection, you will be spending 480 pesos a day.

Advance Guide for Globe at Home Prepaid Wifi
How to Register to GOSURF/GOSAKTO Promos with Globe at Home Prepaid Wifi
The simcard inside acts and behaves like your regular prepaid LTE sim with the exception of the exclusive HOMESURF promos.
To register to gosurf/gosakto promos, just go to the DASHBOARD and access SMS and text your promos to 8080. You can then use the Globe at Home App to monitor your data usage or manually text 8080 with GS BAL/GOSURF STATUS/GOSAKTO STATUS keywords.
*NOTE 1: New system of Globe after several complaints. The PHW will now use the HOMESURF promos first before any other promos! This means do not directly register HOMESURF15 if you just registered GS50. Use up the GS50 first!*NOTE 1: The Globe at Home Prepaid Wifi system will use GOSURF/GOSAKTO and FREE DATA/Reward data FIRST before the HOMESURF data. This means if you registered to GOSURF50 for 1gb of data and then HOMESURF15 for another 1gb, you will consume the GS50 data first. You can check both balances with the Globe at Home app.
How to Register to Homesurf Promos
Homesurf (HS) are new promos just launched by Globe on October 15, 2017. They come in three keywords
- HOMESURF15 – 1gb expires after 24 hours, can only be registered with an active GoSurf50
- HOMESURF399 – 10gb expires after 10 days
- HOMESURF599 – 15gb expires after 30 days
You can register to these promos via the following methods:
Method 1 – Globe at Home App
- Tap the 3 lines upper left
- Tap “Get more Data”
- Pick among your choices by tapping subscribe
Method 2 – Globe at Home App
- Tap “GO TO DASHABOARD”
- Tap +GET MORE DATA
- Pick among your choices by tapping subscribe
Method 3 – Via text with your smartphone
- Create a message with the number 2+10 digit number found behind the PHW modem
- Text any of the HOMESURF keywords
NOTE 2: All of the above methods will result to you getting a SHARE-A-LOAD (SAL) message requiring you to reply YES within 5 minutes. If you’re using a prepaid number, you are limited to 5 SAL per day. To overcome this limit, you can actually use other numbers and use method 3 so you don’t have to keep on installing the Globe at Home app. (or just replace the sim card of your smartphone and use method 1 and 2).For postpaid numbers, you’re limit depends on your monthly recurring fee. If you’re paying below 1,200 per month, you only have 500 pesos for share a load to your PHW account.
Understanding HOMESURF15
A lot of people have been asking specifically about HOMESURF15. It’s actually the cheapest (legal) promo that Globe has. At 1 gb for only 15 pesos, a lot is interested in registering multiple promos. Here are the basics.
- HOMESURF15 (HS15) and other HS promos will only work with the simcard with your PHW and not with other prepaid LTE or even postpaid sims.
- HOMESURF promos can only be registered via the Globe at Home app or through share a load (method 3 above)
- HS15 in particular only works if you are registered to GOSURF50
- HOMESURF promos requires share-a-load for registrations hence you are limited according to the share a load limits. (see Note 2)
How to Register to HOMESURF15
Step 1: Register to GOSURF50 via the modem DASHBOARD then SMS. This requires loading your PHW sim with 52 pesos (1 peso for the promo registration, 1 peso to keep your internet open) wait for confirmation that you are registered to the promo.
Step 2: Use up your 1gb allocation of your GS50 – highly recommended before you register to HS15
Step 3: Open your Globe at Home app and register to HOMESURF15 (make sure your prepaid/postpaid sim has enough load for the promo plus the 1 peso transaction fee)
Why do you need step 2? It’s because of the system of the Globe at Home Prepaid Wifi. It is set to consume GOSURF/GOSAKTO/Free Data first before using your HOMESURF data. And since HS15 has a 24 hour validity, you will be wasting money if you are not careful. You can register to multiple HS15 but remember you are limited to only 5 share a load for prepaid, and 500 pesos for postpaid in a day. (see Note 2)
Example Registration of Gosurf50 and Homesurf15
- Promo GOSURF50 – registered on November 1 at 9am (expires on November 4 at 9am)
- Promo HOMESURF15 – registered on November 2 at 3pm (expires on November 3 at 3pm)
Looking at the promos above, if you still have even 1mbp left before 9am November 4, your HOMESURF15 1gb will not be touched. However your HS15 will expire on November 3 at 3pm whether you used it or not.
To preempt other questions
- HOMESURF15 cannot be registered with other GOSURF packages like GS299, 499 and 999
- HOMESURF15 may be registered if you have a GOSURF50 registered after registering to other promos (this means GOSURF50 has to be the latest promo) but this may bug your registrations so better not risk it.
- HOMESURF15 may be extended by registering to HOMESURF399/599 but do so at your risk. Some people have reported that HS15 will expire even if you’ve registered to HS599.
- HOMESURF15 cannot be extended by GOSURF299 and GOSAKTO promos
- HOMESURF15 can be repeatedly registered but see the share a load limits (see Note 2)
Possible way to Maximize HOMESURF15
NOTE: FOLLOW AT YOUR OWN RISK!
Not yet tested by anyone, however I have managed to do it accidentally.
Step 1: Register to GOSURF50 via DASHBOARD>SMS
Step 2: At about 6pm onwards, register to HOMESURF15 via the Globe at Home App to maximum prepaid share a load limit (5 times) for the first batch for a total of 5gb (5x15 = 75 pesos)
Step 3: After 12 midnight share a load refreshes so register to HOMESURF15 again 4 TIMES ONLY! (4x15 = 60 pesos)
Step 4: The 5th is reserved for HOMESURF599 for the 30 day validity. This will give you a total of 24gb of HOMESURF promos for 784 pesos plus 1gb of GOSURF50 for a grand total of 25gb good for 30 days.
If you feel like getting more data (at your own risk), you can use other prepaid sim cards to register HOMESURF15 up to the share a load limit to get as much data before doing step 4. Just remember the 24 hour validity of your HOMESURF15 registrations.
Again, this can fail! The worst thing that will happen is you lose the HS15 registrations on the actual date it expires.
Transferring the Prepaid Home Wifi Sim card to Other Devices
Just imagine, the power of cheap HOMESURF promos in your smartphone or pocket wifi. You can bring that 50mbps speed with you 24/7. Unfortunately, it won’t work. At least not in the way you think.
As I’ve mentioned before, there is a special sim card inside the Globe at Home Prepaid wifi. It’s the only sim card of globe that can register to HOMESURF promos.
You can take it out (and void your 7 day replacement and 1 year warranty) and place the sim in other devices (another smartphone/pocket wifi/other modem) and it will work just like your regular prepaid LTE sim. You can even register to GOSURF/GOSAKTO and HOMESURF data with it. Unfortunately, you will only be able to surf the net using GOSURF/GOSAKTO/FREEBIE data. Once those are used up, your SURFALERT will be triggered and if your SURFALERT it turned off, you’ll be browsing at 5 pesos for 15 minutes until you consume your prepaid load (in your PHW simcard). You can register to HOMESURF while the PHW sim card is in other devices however even with a successful registration, you cannot browse the internet properly. You will need GOSURF/GOSAKTO and FREEBIE data as long as the Globe at Home sim card is in other devices.
PS = Mine did get bugged though. Even with the sim in the original device, I had to stop the FREE10GB and GS299 manually. link on that experience here
Replacing the Globe at Home Prepaid Sim Card with a regular LTE sim card
Another question is if it’s possible to replace the sim card inside the PHW with another sim card (prepaid/postpaid) and will it still work? YES and NO
YES it will work. In fact it will still work and give you max 50mbps speed and you can register to GOSURF/GOSAKTO and time base surfing for prepaid and GOSURF/data base surfing for postpaid.
NO it will not work. For HOMESURF promo registrations. Only the original sim that came with the PHW will be able to work with HOMESURF promos.
You will still void your 7 day replacement and 1 year warranty.

Btw, yung HS15 po ba ay kasabay mag eexpire ng GS50?

DeleteIto ang possible reasons.
1. Nalipat mo ang sim sa ibang modem/device. Hindi na gagana ang free10gb pag nalipat ang sim sa ibang device dahil homesurf yan
2. Deadspot ang area mo sa frequency na kailangan para sa HOMESURF. Iba ang frequency sa homesurf versus sa frequency ng ibang promos ng Globe. Kaya gumagana ang GS50 dahil yun lang na frequency nasasagap ng modem mo. Solution dyan ay kung may antenna connector sa likod ng modem mo, pwede ka mag lagay ng external antenna at i-direct mo sa location kung saan may Globe tower. Hindi ko ma guarantee ang success though.
Nasaan ang sim nakalagay? Sa orig modem o nilipat mo?

If you do the calculations, mas cheaper if mag homesurf 599 ka na lang.

If gagawib mong 30x kea 37 = 1,110 + 152 = 1,262 pesos
599 x 2 for 30gb = 1,198
Same pa rin if gawin mong 60gb through Kea37, dahil need mo pa ang gaf152.
Ang advantage ng hs599, di mo sya kailangan iregister 3x agad. Pwede mo ubusin muna ang 15gb saka ka mag register ng another hs599. Para sa ganun, ma adjust ng adjust ang 30 days.

Chanced upon ur blog nurse while looking for ways to reload my new phw ksi limited lng pla choice mo to reload, kla ko pasok ang karamihan ng promos, n thanx, ksi i learnd quite a few. Ask klng, do u need to leave some mbs sa gs50 b4 u add hs15, if so how many mbs, n how many hs15 na pwede ipasok agad? Thanx uli.
DeleteYou can consume all the gb of GS50, which I encourage. Makikita naman na andun pa rin ang expiry nya na 3 days. Add HS15 once GS50 data is used up. Because the new system will consume HS data before GS. So if may natira na let's say 500mb and nag HS15 Ka, the system will not use up that 500mb as long as HS15 still has data. So sayang sya.

Guess i have to do that on the modem itself, d problem is i cant access the sms section of my ip adderess, everytime i try to enter the user name n p.w., it says error! I hvnt changed anything on the phw yet. Mine is d huawei modem.

Ive finally got access to the admin mngment section of the ip address! Turned out i was inputting the wrong p.w.of the user name because the letters printed were small and too close together. U have to input the supplied user name nd p.w.on the huawei as instructed. Thanks a lot nurse, will follow some of ur info and inputs from here. HAPPY EASTER!

DeleteYes pwede mag register ng HS599 more than once in 1 day (limit is share a load) pero I advise against it. Kasi sayang ang 30 days validity. If 2x in 1 day ka, 30 days lang validity ng data mo.
However if mag reg ka kung paubos na data mo or sa 29th day ng first HS599, at least ma extend pa data mo. Ex.
Register April 1, expire April 30
Sa April 15 naubos na 15gb, register ka ulit HS599 sa April 15, new expiry is May 15.
Ex 2
Register April 1,expiry April 30.
Sa april 29 may natira pa 5gb, register ka agad ng HS599. New expiry is May 29 saka na carry over pa ang 5gb mo sa next month.
Mas maganda kung ganun.

Wag ka na mag GS, diretso na HS599. Saka ka na mag HS599 ulit if ubos na 15gb or matatapos na 30 days mo.

I can't register to any gosakto promos like GOTSCOMBODD70 and GOTSCOMBODD90 but if I register with GS50 it is successful. I am using the Globe at home WIFI prepaid sim card. Any news on this?

Tanging HOMESURF lang makaka extend ng HS15 in theory. Kasi some people report na gumana yung GS50 nang maubus pero di pa expired ang 3 days nag HS15 x 5 then nag HS599. Na extend ang 5gb na HS15 dahil sa HS599.
So my advice talaga, go for HS599. Less hassle sya with loading time.
pwede naman mag GS50 every 3 days. 500 pesos a month and a total of 10gb or at least 1gb every 3 days. And any time pwede mag HS15. Yung prob is need talaga ng close monitoring baka kasi malimutan mo. Expired agad.

Hello po bago lang po ako sa Globe at home prepaid na wifi may load po kase yung wifi ko pero di ko maregister 95 po yung load niya. wala na po ba way na mareg yun wala kase sms pumunta din ako sa ip adress nya at dun ako nag reg nasa outbox lang talaga pag magrereg. nasa globe at home na wifi po yung load wala sa cp ko pasagot po saalamat.

ReplyDeleteDi naman kailangan ang sim ng home prepaid wifi for gocombo promos. Gamit ka lang ng regular sim at mag register ka sa phone mo, use your phone mobile data sharing like hotspot.
DeletePero consider the costs din, 800mb a day ka lang maka surf, titigil sya once you reach that tapos resume ulit 12 midnight.
But if you try gocombo promo, first off, di ako maka guarantee na gagana sya. May nakapagsabi na walang reply sya.
If you still want that, di mo naman need na tanggalin ang sim.
All you have to do is load your PHW, go to the dashboard (yung 192.xxx.xxx.x), sa SMS access it. Dun ka mag register.

ReplyDeleteThe PHW sim is like the prepaid sim. Pwede ka mag reg ng supersurf999 dun. No need to remove it or to replace it.

I suggest if you're going to spend at least 50gb,kunin nyo na lang yung 1,299 na LTE. I think may promo sya na magiging 150gb sya. Kasi sa akin 1,299 din. Pero 10mbps lang speed.
Ang reason na 599 = 15gb kasi speed mo should be 50mbps. Sa totoo lang, mahal ang LTE na 50mbps speed. So in reality, it's a bargain. Sa supersurf naman, 50mbps din pero yun lang 800mb a day ka lang.
Nag switch na kasi ako to 1,299 and I got 150gb a month for 10mbps speed. I think ok na sya for facetime.

Delete1,299 is LTE po. Bibigyan kayo ng wireless modem na may simcard sa loob gaya ng PHW. Di sya DSL o wired.
DeleteDisclaimer lang though. Mag depende yan sa area nyo if malakas ba ang LTE o hindi, hindi ba congested or may natural blocks sa signal like mountains, trees and weather.
The same goes for PHW, need nya ng special frequency (700mhz)for the homesurf promos.
Kung balak nyo na mag supersurf/gosurf na lang. Stick to the pocket wifi.
Forna skype vidcall po, it's about 180mb for 1 hour call. So supposedly matagal maubos ang 8gb na yan kahit na 1 hour a day kayo naguusap.
Most likely may youtube or some sort of streaming kayo ginagawa. I have to say, 30 minutes of youtube is already almost 500mb of data Depende if 1080p resolution. So makatuwid, 1 hour of YouTube /streaming is 1gb. 1 movie is alsmost 2gb. So mga 4 movies lang ubos na ang data mo.
Reason why I suggest yung 1,299 na LTE. At least pwede kayo mag request sa technician na tingnan muna area nyo pag kabit kung may signal ba oh wala. Malakas ba o hindi.yun nga lang, it's 10mbps speed.

As for netflix, anything actually will deduct sa data ninyo. Netflix though in ky experience, kung tablet and phones gamit nyo eh data is very minimal. Like 1 tv episode is only 100mb. A full movie is 250mb.

DeleteMadalas nagbubug ang app. I think sira kahapon and nag send sila ng message na ganun. Update the GAH app always and wait 24 hrs para sa totoong data usage. If di pa rin updated, may autmated message sa 211 para malaman mo ang usage mo.

As I've written sa blog ko, uunahin ng system ang homesurf. Kaya pag pinag sabay mo ang gosurf50 at nag HS15 ka, uunahin nya HS15 mo, saka ang gs50 data.

ReplyDeleteYes, yung mga additional ay GWP lahat. See my other posts on the sites/app na pwede sa GWP. Alternatively, you can use VPN to use the freebie GWP for any site surfing. But VPN is additional charge din, might as well get a higher data allocation.
