Some weeks ago, I bought a Globe at Home Prepaid Wifi. It was supposed to be my 4th alternative internet connection in case the others keep failing. I mean it’s all from Globe but with none to poor signal for other ISPs, it’s not like I have a choice. I have the following internet connections with Globe:
- Mobile postpaid
- Home broadband LTE
- Prepaid
- At Home Prepaid Wifi
And I spend at least 4,000 pesos on all of them because I have an online job that requires connectivity. It sucks that they all fail most of the time.
So back to the problem. At about 1 week after buying the prepaid home wifi (PHW), things got worse. Images would only keep on loading, takes a long while to even upload a 50mbp video clip to youtube, video keeps getting cut off during playback.
I called 211, tweeted and messaged Globe Telecom FB. None really helped by the way. But this reply by the FB messenger Globe account takes the cake.
Let us straighten this out, Ram. Kung ang ginagamit mo ang iyong iyong Broadband Plan, be aware na subject ito for daily data capping at hindi ito designed for heavy surfing. Kapag naabot mo ang 3 GB volume allowance nito per day, babagal ang iyong connection at muling magagamit after 12 midnight. Based also sa iyong screenshot, walang problema sa iyong signal at data connection. Thank you.
I’ve already sent them previous screenshots of my Globe at Home app showing at least 15 gb of data left. As for my Postpaid Broadband I’ve known the limits, it’s only 1mbps but it’s been with me since 2011.
Somehow it’s my fault for not knowing what I’m paying for. Really Globe?
If you want to feel my frustration, this is a sample of buffering with Globe at Home Prepaid Wifi.
