If you're one of the professionals who need CPD units for July to December 2017 you don't need to panic if you haven't come up with the required units.
30% of the requirement might seem small to some professions but for some, it could mean anywhere up to 80 units such as for Accountants.
Unfortunately, the implementing rules and regulations was released just recently which means there's some confusion about who are CPD providers and how do they provide seminars/lectures that are accredited and how many units can they give.
Don't worry if you haven't come up with the required units. Apparently the PRC is allowing you to renew your license for now providing that for your next renewal you'll come up with the required units for the year ( eg 2018 will only have 60% of requirement) PLUS the deficit of the year you renewed.
Sample Renewal with Incomplete CPD Units
For example if you're an accountant with a requirement of 80 (for July to December 2017) but you only managed to get 30 units. You can still renew your license this year. However when you renew your license by 2020, you need to add the missing 50 units to 120 units making that a total of 170 units for your next renewal. The same goes for 2018 renewals. Any deficit CPD units will be added to the required units by 2021 renewal. Hopefully though by that time, the review of the law authored by Trillanes will change or be repealed.
To renew your license with incomplete CPD units, you may download this form and fill it up and submit it to PRC.
You can then proceed to renew your PRC license online.
