If you want to avoid incurring additional charges or overspending with your Globe Postpaid Plan then download the GServices App. It’s an official app from Globe Telecom to help their postpaid subscribers manage their plan and it offers a lot of services with just a few simple taps.
Dialing 211 can be a hassle. Keying in *143 and choosing from a menu can sometimes take time and one simple mistake will force you to restart the whole process. Don’t even think about texting 1234, your inbox will be flooded with messages and texting back the keywords will take time. Use the GServices App instead. Just connect to the internet via Wifi or your own data plan and you’re all set.
Getting your Gservices App
The app is available in the Google App store and the Apple App Store. It’s highly suggested to download it from official sites to avoid hackers. Once you’ve finished downloading the app, just follow the simple steps in verifying your cellphone number. After verification, you can protect your account with a 4 digit pincode of your choosing.
Your Outstanding Balance
After logging in, you’ll immediately see your account balance. Your account balance is your payable for the month and any arrears that you may have incurred. Other information displayed include your picture, a background picture, your complete name in your account and your phone number and finally the current date and time and your due date.
If you think that’s not the amount you should be paying, try swiping left and right. Sometimes the Gservices app takes some time to show your real outstanding balance. According to Globe customer representatives, your outstanding balance updates four to five days after your cut-off date. So don’t expect real-time update on your expenses since you’re on a postpaid plan. Your bill payment will be reflected after two to three working days.
Unbilled Charges
Next to outstanding balance is your unbilled charges. The unbilled charges in your GServices app will only show your charges incurred in the last two hours. Again, there’s not real-time updating for your unbilled charges.
Your unbilled charges will reflect the amount you’ve spent on top of your consumables or unlimited plan. This includes calls and text after your consumables or calls and texts to other networks have been used up. Unfortunately, this does not show your roaming charges, share-a-load charges and Google and Apple app purchases so be careful. This page may also reflect any data charges on top of your consumable or unlimited internet plan. If you see an amount here, it’s likely you spent all your consumables or you called or texted other networks. If you think the amount displayed is an error, try calling 211 to find out what the charges are.
Globe Rewards Points Balance
Swipe right again and you’ll find your rewards points balance. If it hasn’t updated yet, try swiping again left or right.
No other information can be found here, hopefully Globe will be able to add the expiry date of the points. It seems that the points last only for a year or so. There’s also no option to instantly redeem your points in the app itself. You still have to text an item code to 4438.
Data Monitor
The fourth page is reserved for data or mobile internet. If you’re on unlimited data plan, it will show only your speed in Mbps. If you happen to be subscribed to a Gosurf or internet consumable of Globe, then a bar as shown below will be displayed.
This is a great feature especially if you’re a heavy mobile data user. Remember, Globe Telecom charges 2 pesos for 1mb of data. This feature will show you the total data from upload and download usage. It seems that this feature is in real-time so check back often especially if you’ve just finished updating large apps or watched streaming videos.
Other Features in GServices App
These are several features found in the GServices App worth visiting.
The menu bar shows several useful services such as the share-a-load and spam reporting. You can also nominate or change your pincode.
Globe GServices app also features multiple account services. Click the top of your menu and you’ll be taken to the account management area.
Here you can switch to different phone plans. Registering a new number will require keying in a code sent to said number. Technically, you can use this to monitor the phone plans of your children or other people.
Self Service Feature
Finally you have the self service feature of the app. There are three categories, Service Requests, Account management and Promo subscription.
Service Requests
You’ll find the following options:
- Request for contact information
- Request for billing statement
- Request for reconnection
- Activate / Deactivate my IDD Service
- Increase / Decrease my credit limit
- Temporary Disconnect my Line – This allows you to stop your subscription for maximum of one month
- Sign up for paperless billing
You can make any request at anytime of the day because it is all automated. You’ll get a response anytime via text or call between 24 to 72 hours.
Account Management
Options found under account management:
- Change my account name
- Change my billing address
- Change my plan – check if you’re no longer in contract
- Change my billing cut-off
- Change my mobile number
- Change my GServices Pin
All changes to your account will be reflected in your next billing statement. If you want to cancel your changes, call 211 immediately. You can change your plan here such as your monthly recurring fee and the boosters and combos you want. Be careful though, any changes during your contract might trigger a termination fee. If you’re not confident in changing your whole plan by yourself, call 211.
Promo Subscription
If you just want to make small tweaks to your plan, this feature will be useful. Choose any category below and you’ll shown promos applicable to your plan.
- My Combos & Boosters – shows what combos and boosters you are currently subscribed
- Favorites
- Call
- Text
- Call and Text
- Surf – Will show you different App bundles you can subscribe to
- Roaming
- International
Everything here will be charged on top of your MRF every month until it expires (eg. 7 day unli call/text) or canceled. Most of the promos here will keep on renewing unless if cancelled. Try to subscribe a day after your billing cut-off date. If you only want to access specific apps, Globe offers cheaper prices for a month of unlimited use. An example is unlimited Twitter for one month 199 pesos. Other apps such as Whatsapp, Line, Wechat, FB messenger can be registered at 99 pesos each for unlimited use per month. This means using these apps will not eat your consumable data such as GoSurf.
This app is a great service from Globe Telecom. It’s easy to install and it’s also relatively easy to use. Now you can control your postpaid plan easily with the GServices App!
